· ENTRY – Short listing may apply and students will be offered a place following the successful completion of an interview

·
INTERVIEWS – ALL courses will require an interview and students will be given an interview date as soon as possible after enrolment. Interviews will take place in the college during the months of April, May and September. An interview does not guarantee a place.

· NON-EU NATIONALS – Those who do not meet the exemption requirements are liable for the full tuition fee of €3653 as per instructions of the Department of Education & Science. Cheques/Postal Orders payable to Co. Wexford V.E.C. Details of the exemptions available from Social welfare/E.V.C./Dept. of Education & Science.

· MATURE STUDENTS – Those over 23 years are considered to be ‘mature students' and do not have to have passed any state examinations (i.e. Leaving Certificate) for entry to any course.

· CHARGES – All courses are part funded by the European Social Fund and the Dept. of Education & Science, and consequently, there are NO TUITION FEES payable by EU nationals. There is a general student services charge of €190 (subject to acceptance on a course). This charge covers the cost of class materials, photocopying, internet use, equipment and organisation of special events e.g. graduation.

· MATERIALS CHARGE – Some courses such as Beauty Therapy and Hairdressing will require the purchase of a student personal kit. Other courses such as Leisure Studies and International Travel also charge for examination fees and specialised courses.

· REGISTRATION AND ORIENTATION DAY – The Further Education academic year commences with registration in mid-September and all intending students must be present. Orientation will take place afterwards, which includes a meeting with the Course Director who will disseminate information on projects, assignments, timetable and any additional charges applicable to the course.

· LEAVING CERTIFICATE MATHS – All students will be afforded the opportunity to repeat Leaving Certificate Maths

· CAREER GUIDANCE/COUNSELLING SERVICE – Students can avail of career guidance and advice one day per week. The counselling service is available daily as necessary.

· FACILITIES – the college has four Information Technology rooms, a Recording Studio and CD production facility, two fully equipped Science labs, a modern Hair Design Studio and a state-of-the-art Beauty Therapy Salon.

· WIT/EVC ADDED POINTS SCHEME – Students on ten of our courses may add a maximum of 200 points to their Leaving Certificate for entry to Certificate (Level 6), Ordinary Degree (Level 7) and Honours Degree (Level 8) courses in Waterford Institute of Technology. The FETAC course studied at Level 5 must be in the cognate area and all WIT/EVC exams must be passed. This scheme is only available through the Enniscorthy PLC/FE programme. · WIT/EVC Advanced Entry to WIT

Our college of Further Education has agreed improved links with Waterford Institute of Technology for the following courses: Science, Business,Childcare & Social Care.

Students may gain access into first year of a relevant degree course and complete their degree in three years, provided they satisfy the following requirements: achieve at least an overall merit award in the FETAC Level 5 course, complete a personal portfolio followed by interview and assessment.

· WEXFORD CAMPUS (CARLOW IT)/EVC – CHILDCARE EXEMPTION SCHEME – A unique partnership has been developed between Wexford Campus (Carlow IT) and EVC students who successfully complete the Childcare course(DCHSC) at FETAC Level 5. Students have the opportunity to transfer directly into second year of the BA in Early Childhood Studies 3 year degree programme. Certain minimum requirements apply.
