On Tuesday the 12th of November, 26 5th year LCVP students, along with their teachers made their annual visit to our local Pettitts Store. Students are partaking in the 7th Schools Business Partnership ‘Skills at Work’ Programme. The Programme offers students the unique opportunity to learn about how a successful business is run in an interactive and practical way. They were given the opportunity to meet the Managing Director of Pettitts, Cormac Pettitt who advised students on what potential employers look for when hiring young people. His story was very inspirational and students learned the importance of hard work and dedication in order to achieve in life.
On Monday, the 18th of November, 3 members of Pettitts staff, visited our 5th Year LCVP class, as part of their school business partnership with Pettitts. This part of the Programme is called ‘A Day in the Life’ which provides students with information on the various career paths open to them in the retail section.Students were really engaged throughout the presentations, particularly when Pettitts head baker brought out his freshly baked. Thanks to Ms. Laura Mc Walter for organising the trip.
