Sixth Year students still have time to research their options as closing date not until February 1st. If you are considering applying, it is important that you only put down your preferred courses. Do not put in random courses for the sake of filling in the lists, it could prove to be costly as you may end up doing a course that you may not be interested in. You need to have a good understanding of the minimum requirements and the faculty requirements for the course that you want to do.
Make sure to speak to your family friends, teachers and Guidance, explore and think about where you see yourself in 5 years time.
Some of you are considering taking a year out... be mindful that jobs are not plentiful at the moment and it will be difficult to gauge how things will be in September. Have your PLAN B in place.. PLC courses are an excellent platform to begin your career and/or college journey. Ms. Jean Byrne and Ms. Avril Murphy the Guidance Counsellors in the school are available to students to assist them with their applications and queries.
